Suramadu Bridge
Kuala Lumpur has twin towers, Petronas, Jakarta has Monas, and Surabaya and Madura have new icon, it is Surmadu Bridge. Suramadu Bridge is Surabaya-Madura Bridge. It connect Java Island (in Surabaya) and Madura (in Bangkalan). Suramadu will be longest bridge in Indonesia now. It build begin on August 20th 3003. The total of bridge’s length is 5 .438 meters, consist of causeway in Madura 1. 818 meters, and causeway in Surabaya is 1.458 meters. Total length of the middle Bentang is 2. 162 meters, consist of two Approach Bridge each island is 627 meters, and Main Bridge is 818 meters. The length of Pendekat Way in Surabaya is 4, 35 kilometers, and in Madura is 11, 50 kilometers.
Besides national consortium, construction firm from China is also has an important role in reconstruction of Suramadu Bridge. It is because of the bridge’s foundation which call Steel Box Grider is made in Tiongkok, china. Moreover, the shipping of it needs long time. It is needs 30 days, and four times shipping. The expanses are estimated about 4, 5 quantillion. The amount of the expanses that used to build Suramadu Bridge is become obstacle for continuity to completion of it.
But now Suramadu Bridge has already become an icon in Surabaya and Madura. It is wonderful and very great. Suramadu Bridge is the longest bridge in Indonesia. Furthermore, it also became tourist, so if we go to Surabaya or Madura we should visit Suramadu Bridge. And I hope it will make tourist interested in it, because it is very beautiful. We can see the sea scenery from Suramadu Bridge. It is very wonderful.
